78　aspect和respect

① aspect表示“方面”時，指事物、問題的某一方面或部分。

We should consider a problem in all its aspects. 我們應(yīng)該全面地考慮問題。

提示

aspect 還可表示“樣子，外表”，如：take on a new aspect 面貌一新。

② respect表示“方面”時，指某個特定的“方面”，或看問題的“著眼點”。

The two poems are similar in some respects. 這兩首詩在某些方面相似。

In many respects，he is more capable than his brother. 從許多方面來看，他比他的兄弟更能干。

提示

respect 還可表示“尊敬；敬意，問候（復(fù)數(shù)）”等意。

I have much respect for him. 我非常尊敬他。
