344　hesitate和pause

① hesitate猶豫，躊躇，指舉棋不定的矛盾心理造成行為的暫時中斷。

He hesitated about whether to accept the invitation. 他對是否接受這一邀請猶豫不決。

She hesitated over the choice between the two dresses. 她對于兩件衣服中挑選哪一件猶豫不決。

He hesitates at nothing. 他對什么/任何事都毫不遲疑。

I hesitate to spend so much money on clothes. 我有點(diǎn)不愿在衣服上花這么多錢。

② pause中止，暫停，指做事說話過程中的暫時中斷。

He paused to look around. 他停下向四處張望。

He paused at the door to survey the room. 他在門口停下把室內(nèi)打量了一下。
