352　hundred，thousand和million

① 這些數(shù)量詞前有數(shù)詞（one，two，three…）修飾時，表示確切數(shù)量，仍使用單數(shù)形式hundred，thousand，million…，再接復數(shù)名詞。

The town has fifty thousands people.

The town has fifty thousand people.

這個小城有5萬人口。

② 這些數(shù)量詞前無數(shù)詞，表示概數(shù)時，要用復數(shù)形式，后再加of。結(jié)構(gòu)為：

Hundreds of people came to the meeting. 數(shù)百人出席了會議。

提示

①表示概數(shù)的hundreds of…，thousands of…短語中的of 之后，不可加the，these，those或所有格（my，your…）。

Thousands of the/those people gathered there.

Thousands of people gathered there.

數(shù)千人聚集在那里。

②表示確指的ten thousand，five hundred后，可加of，再加the，these，those或所有格（my，your…），用以表示某范圍內(nèi)的一部分。

這些/她的學生中有500個通過了考試。

Five hundred of students passed the exam.

Five hundred of the/her students passed the exam.

She has three hundred books. 她有300本書。（確指）

She has hundreds of books. 她有好幾百本書。（泛指）

Four million of pencils were sold out.

Million of pencils were sold out.

Four million pencils were sold out.

400萬支鉛筆銷售一空。

Millions of pencils were sold out.
