 　　釋義：

　　hold somebody 使某人無法離開

　　hold somebody 表示“抓住某人，不讓其離開”， hold somebody hostage 表示“抓為人質(zhì)”， hold somebody prisoner 則表示“將某人投入監(jiān)獄”。

　　例句：

　　Hold them right there. I'm on my way.

　　留住他們，我馬上就到。

　　We captured them. We're holding them over at my place.

　　我們抓住他們了。他們正在我家里關(guān)著呢。

　　I'm not sure holding me hostage is your best option.

　　我不知道你們把我當(dāng)成人質(zhì)是不是最好的選擇。
