At the dinner table that night, Tom did not eat. He looked at his food and felt sick. Tom had many worries about the following day. Neither watching television nor playing on the computer helped take his mind off them. He kept thinking about the same questions over and over. What if everyone is mean and they want to beat me up? What if my teacher hates me? Tom went to bed that night with these questions and got very little sleep. In the morning, he got up and put his brand-new uniform on for the first time. He went to school with an empty stomach and hoped that everything would turn out fine.
