In United States, the republican controlled senators have voted to limit the president's ability to attack Iran without congressional approval. Eight republicans voted with democrats. Mr.Trump has promised to veto the bill.

The U.S government has fired new charges against Huawei and its chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou. The latest indictment accused Huawei of plotting to steal trade secrets. There are also new allegations about Huawei's business dealings with Iran and North Korea in breach of sanctions. Huawei has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Amazon has won its appeal against the decision by Pentagon to award a ten billion contract to Microsoft to provide it with power computing. Amazon, itself a major power computing provider, fired a lawsuit in November, alleging the president asserted undue influence on the decision. The defense secretary has denied there was any bias.

The former head of the United Nations climate science panel Rajendra Kumar Pachauri has died from a prolonged heart ailment. Mr.Pachauri accepted the 2007 Nobel peace prize on behalf of the intergovernment panel on climate change, but had to step down as head seven years later following allegations of sexual harassment. He denied the charges.

And NASA scientists say they discovered the planets on our solar system were not formed violently with the crash as established theory suggests. But they were formed by gently clumping together. They say science textbooks will have to be rewritten.
