雪之歌
I hear a bird chirp in the sun;
我聽見一只小鳥，在陽光下啼囀，
He flutters and hops to and fro;
它飛來飛去，左跳右跳;
His tiny light tracks, one by one,
把纖細(xì)的腳印一個(gè)個(gè)，
He prints on the new-fallen snow.
在新落的雪上印好：
Little bird, sing!
小鳥，歌唱吧!
Sun, give his wing A flicker of gold as you go!
大陽，照耀吧!請給它的翅膀，鑲上金邊一條!
Make a smooth path for him, Snow!
雪姑娘，請你把他的前路凊掃!
I see a child out there at play;
我看見一個(gè)孩子，在戶外游玩，
His footfall is light on the snow;
雪地的腳步輕輕，宛若小鳥;
His curls catch a swift golden ray
太陽的金光纏繞在卷發(fā)上，
Of the sun, while the merry winds blow.
歡樂的風(fēng)聲，在他耳邊回響
Little child, run!
孩子，飛跑吧!
Shine on him, Sun!
大陽，照耀吧!
Blow him fair weather, Wind, blow!
風(fēng)啊，請將晴朗的天氣送到，
Make a white path for him, Snow!
雪姑娘，請你把白色的路基筑牢!
The little bird’s home is the sky,
小鳥的家，若不是天地
Or the ground, or a nest in the tree.
就是鳥巢，隱在枝葉之間;
The little child some day will fly
有朝一日，那孩子也將
From his doorstep, new regions to see.
飛出家門，把新的世界發(fā)現(xiàn)
Bird-like and free
愿他晴日的飛翔，
May his sunny flight be!
自由像鳥兒一樣!
And wherever on earth he may go,
愿地上的腳印，潔白勝雪，
May his footsteps be whiter than snow!
不管他將來，去向何方!
