所有格除了表示所屬關(guān)系，還可以表示其他關(guān)系。

（1）主謂關(guān)系

the visitor's departure　客人的離開(kāi)

the teacher's request　老師的要求

Britain's decision=Britain decided...　英國(guó)的決定

the arrival of the train　火車(chē)到達(dá)

the growth of agriculture　農(nóng)業(yè)增長(zhǎng)

the arrival of my mother=my mother arrived　我母親的到來(lái)

（2）動(dòng)賓關(guān)系

the children's education=(Somebody) educated the children

對(duì)孩子的教育

the boy's punishment=(Somebody) punished the boy　對(duì)孩子的懲罰

the discussion of the plan　對(duì)該計(jì)劃的討論

the criticism of the teacher　對(duì)老師的批評(píng)
