（1）與名詞搭配

a few，few后面只能接可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)；而a little，little后面只能接不可數(shù)名詞。例如：

a few days　few boys

a little water　little money

（2）肯定/否定之別

a few，a little意思是肯定的，相當(dāng)于some，表示“有一些”。而few，little意思是否定的，表示“很少，幾乎沒有”。例如：

a. His theory is rather difficult; few people understand it.=...almost no people understand it.　他的理論很深?yuàn)W，沒什么人能夠理解。

b. His theory is rather difficult, but a few people understand it.

他的理論很深?yuàn)W，但卻有一些人能夠理解。

c. I have little interest in English, so I am very poor at it.

我對(duì)英文沒什么興趣，所以學(xué)得很不好。

d. I have a little interest in English, so I like learning it.

我對(duì)英文有些興趣，所以我喜歡學(xué)。

（3）與only或very搭配

我們只能說：only a little，only a few；而不能說：only few*，only little*。但為了強(qiáng)調(diào)否定意義，我們可以說：very few, very little。

His theory is rather difficult and ____ students can understand it.
