175　likely, possible和probable

1　likely 指從外表、跡象判斷可能發(fā)生，表面看來大有可能。

The plane is likely to be late. 飛機可能晚點了。

Your words are likely to offend him. 你的話很可能會冒犯他。

Snowstorm is likely in the next 24 hours. 未來的24小時內(nèi)可能會有暴風雪。

2　possible 指客觀上有可能，但常暗示希望較小。

It is possible that he may succeed. 他也許會成功。

I found it possible for Mary to do the work. 我發(fā)覺瑪麗可以做那工作。

if possible 如果可能；the best possible 盡可能好的；where/wherever/whenever possible 一有機會

3　probable 指有充分的依據(jù)或似乎有充分的理由使人感到有可能發(fā)生或?qū)崿F(xiàn)。

It is probable that she'll have to move house. 她很有可能得搬家。

Is it probable to get there in three hours? 有可能在3個小時到達那里嗎？

Snow is probable this afternoon. 今天下午可能會下雪。
