in order to do sth. 意為“為了……,以便……(做某事)”,to 后跟動詞原形,引導(dǎo)目的狀語,可以替代so that所引導(dǎo)的目的狀語從句。動詞不定式也可以作目的狀語,但用in order to do sth.更為正式。in order to do sth. 的否定式為in order not to do sth.。
She studied hard in order to pass the exam. 她刻苦學(xué)習(xí),以便通過考試 。
