The Moon and the Yew Tree
月亮與紫杉樹(shù)

This is the light of the mind, cold and planetary.
這是思想之光，冷峻、飄忽不定。

The trees of the mind are black. The light is blue.
思想之樹(shù)林呈黑色。光是藍(lán)色。

The grasses unload their griefs on my feet as if I were God,
玻璃杯傾瀉悲哀于我腳上，仿佛我是上帝，

Prickling my ankles and murmuring of their humility.
刺痛我的腳踝，低聲述說(shuō)它們的謙遜。

Fumy, spiritous mists inhabit this place

Separated from my house by a row of headstones.

I simply cannot see where there is to get to.

Their hands and faces stiff with holiness.

The moon sees nothing of this. She is bald and wild.

And the message of the yew tree is blackness—blackness and silence.
