韓國取消通奸禁令 廢除禁止婚外性行為法律

A South Korean court has struck down acontroversial, decades-old law that bans extra-marital sex.

一家韓國法院廢除了一項禁止婚外性行為的法律。這項具有爭議的法律已經(jīng)施行了數(shù)十年。

The Constitutional Court on Thursday ruled by avote of seven to two against the adultery ban, whichwas enacted in 1953.

韓國憲法法院星期四進(jìn)行投票，以七票對兩票的表決結(jié)果廢除了通奸法。該法律是1953年頒行的。

 

 

"Even if adultery should be condemned as immoral, state power should not intervene inindividual private lives," said presiding justice Park Han-Chul.

首席法官樸翰哲說：“即使通奸行為應(yīng)該受到道義譴責(zé)，國家權(quán)力也不應(yīng)干預(yù)個人的私生活。”

More than 5,400 people have been indicted on adultery charges in the past six years,according to official figures, though jail terms were rarely given out under the law.

韓國官方公布的數(shù)字顯示，在以往六年期間，5400多人被控犯有通奸罪，不過極少依法判刑。

The adultery ban initially was seen as an attempt to promote gender equality, since marriedwomen had few other rights. But the law became increasingly unpopular as South Koreanculture rapidly modernized in recent decades.

頒布通奸禁令的目的是倡導(dǎo)性別平等，因為當(dāng)時的韓國已婚女子幾乎沒有其他權(quán)利。近幾十年來，隨著韓國文化迅速現(xiàn)代化，反對這項法律的呼聲日益增高。
