第一個要說的就是fly in the face。

它的意思，可千萬不能理解成字面上的“臉上飛”，而是go against：“違背”、“與………相悖”。例如：

This action flies in the face of the agreement.

除了fly in the face之外，另一個與fly有關(guān)的詞組，也很容易被大家誤會，它就是fly on the wall。

If you would like to be a fly on the wall when a particular thing happens, you would like to secretly hear what is said or see what happens.

所以，這個短語的意思就是“未被察覺的觀察者”。
