親愛(ài)的朋友們：
I wanted to wish you a very happy Chinese New Year as we enter the year of the Tiger, a year traditionally associated with good fortune and power.
在即將邁入象征著好運(yùn)和力量的虎年之時(shí)，我祝大家虎年春節(jié)快樂(lè)。
In this auspicious year, the Government will continue to promote the values we share in common with the thriving Chinese community: a belief in hard work, enterprise, community spirit and strong families.We are doing all we can to ensure economic stability and job security and I am proud that many Chinese entrepreneurs continue to create employment and contribute to the nation’s GDP.
在這吉祥的一年，英國(guó)政府將繼續(xù)提倡我們與欣欣向榮的華人群體共同認(rèn)可的價(jià)值觀念：努力工作，積極進(jìn)取，集體精神和家庭和諧。我們正盡己所能確保經(jīng)濟(jì)和就業(yè)率的穩(wěn)定。我很高興地看到許多中國(guó)企業(yè)家繼續(xù)在英國(guó)創(chuàng)造就業(yè)并促進(jìn)了GDP增長(zhǎng)。
I am pleased too that through the Government’s plans to expand the teaching of Mandarin in our schools, children will, including in some cases in primary school, learn of the magnificent contribution of Chinese culture to the world.
通過(guò)政府的推廣，越來(lái)越多的學(xué)校開(kāi)始教授漢語(yǔ)，這也讓我感到非常高興。英國(guó)的孩子們，包括某些地區(qū)的小學(xué)生，將領(lǐng)略到中國(guó)文化對(duì)世界文化的卓越貢獻(xiàn)。
And as we celebrate Shanghai Expo 2010, our pavilion will be the showcase to the world of our culture, and our chance to encourage and support Chinese and UK business growth through the cooperation between our two nations.
在上海世博會(huì)即將到來(lái)之際，英國(guó)館將成為向世界展現(xiàn)英國(guó)文化的窗口，也將成為通過(guò)合作激勵(lì)中英經(jīng)濟(jì)交流的契機(jī)。
So as we join in the celebration of the New Year with Chinese communities all around the world, please do pass on my warm best wishes for the New Year to your family and friends.
