核安全峰會著重朝鮮和伊斯蘭國問題
美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬星期五將在華盛頓舉行的核安全峰會上發(fā)表講話。很多國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人都出席了這次為期兩天的峰會，星期五是峰會的第二天，也是最后一天。
The U.S. leader said Thursday that in the wake ofattacks in places including Brussels, there is “notonly great urgency around the nuclear issue buteliminating generally the scourge of terrorism.”
奧巴馬總統(tǒng)星期四表示，布魯塞爾等地發(fā)生襲擊后，亟待解決的問題不僅是核安全，而且還有根除恐怖主義。
Obama’s fourth and final nuclear summit has come at a time of heightened concern about thepossibility that Islamic State militants could set off radioactive bombs, and also about NorthKorea’s nuclear weapons development.
這是奧巴馬總統(tǒng)任內(nèi)舉行的第4次、也是最后一次核安全峰會。目前，伊斯蘭國激進(jìn)分子可能施放放射性炸彈，以及朝鮮發(fā)展核武器等問題都讓外界日益緊張。
At a State Department ministerial level dinner, Secretary of State John Kerry said there havebeen times when nuclear security progress has been slow, and there remains an “enormousamount more to do. But every step forward that we take is a step away from danger."
在美國國務(wù)院舉行的部長級工作晚餐上，美國國務(wù)卿克里說，實現(xiàn)核安全的進(jìn)展有時非常緩慢，還有大量工作要做。但克里表示，每向前邁進(jìn)一步，就是離危險遠(yuǎn)了一步。
Earlier Thursday, Obama held a series of meetings with leaders. He met with South KoreanPresident Park Geun-hye and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to discuss the North Koreanthreat following Pyongyang's January nuclear test and a long-range missile launch inFebruary.
星期四早些時候，奧巴馬與一些國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人進(jìn)行了一系列會晤。奧巴馬會見了韓國總統(tǒng)樸槿惠和日本首相安倍晉三，討論平壤今年1月核試驗和2月試射遠(yuǎn)程導(dǎo)彈所構(gòu)成的威脅。
Pyongyang also was among the focal points when Obama sat down later with Chinese PresidentXi Jinping.
奧巴馬晚些時候還會見了中國國家主席習(xí)近平，朝鮮核項目問題也是雙方的討論重點。
"We want to enhance communication and coordination on the Korean nuclear issue andother regional and global issues," said Xi at the start of the talks.
習(xí)近平一上來就說，“我們希望在朝鮮核問題以及其他地區(qū)和全球問題上加強聯(lián)絡(luò)與合作。”
Washington views Beijing, Pyongyang's ally, as key in enforcing U.N. sanctions against NorthKorea for its weapons development.
華盛頓認(rèn)為，北京作為朝鮮盟友，是聯(lián)合國制裁朝鮮措施能否落實的關(guān)鍵因素。
