after breakfast在吃過(guò)早飯后

at school在上學(xué)

flour面粉, 不可數(shù)名詞, 注意發(fā)音于 “flower [5flauE]” 相同, 但 “flower” 是可數(shù)名詞, 一般會(huì)用復(fù)數(shù) “flowers”

be covered with蓋滿

at exactly that monent就在那時(shí)

no one could be/have been沒(méi)有人...

no one could be /have been fatter沒(méi)有人更胖了

nothing could have been cheaper沒(méi)有什么東西更便宜了

no face could be uglier沒(méi)有一張臉更丑了 (ugly [5Q^li])

no books could be more interesting沒(méi)有書(shū)更有趣了

nothing could have been more exciting沒(méi)有什么事情更令人激動(dòng)

pick up the receiver撿起話筒

persuade sb to do sth說(shuō)服某人做某事

it takes sb some time to do sth花費(fèi)某人多久做某事, “it” 作形式主語(yǔ)

ring back : 1、回電話, 2、再打電話

hang up掛起

hang up the receiver掛斷電話

no sooner...than... / hardly...when...

★enough n adj adv 足夠的

1、n.  I have/had had enough.我已經(jīng)擁有足夠了

2、adj  ① enough+n, ② n+enough 修飾名詞

I have enough time/time enough.

enough修飾名詞放在被修飾詞的前面或后面

3、adv  不修飾動(dòng)詞只修飾adj或者adv

enough修飾adj或者adv時(shí)一定要放在被修飾詞的后面;

enough to do sth足以用來(lái)做某事

he is rich enough to buy the whole city他富有的可以買下整個(gè)城市

I am hungry enough to eat sth

在dead, young, old前面可以直接加the

the+adj表示...一類人

the rich富人 the young 年輕人 the blind瞎子 the deaf 聾子

the English英國(guó)人 Englishman, Englishwoman

重點(diǎn) :

詞 (annoyin;dismay;persuade;mess;sign)

句型 (1 Nothing could have been more annoying. 2 loud enough to wake the dead.)
