38.Song Sung Blue
Song sunG blue.Everybody knows one. Song sung blue. Every garden grows one. Me and you are subject to the blues now and then. And when you take the blues and make a song, you sing them out again, sing them out again.
Song sung blue. Weeping like a willow. Song sung blue. Sleeping on my pillow. Funny thing but you can sing it with a cry in your voice. And before you know it, get to feeling good. You simply got no choice.

Neil Diamond built a career, first as a pop songwriter, and then as a pop singer, that has withstood the changing fashions of music, especially rock, over more than 25 years. Born in Brooklyn, Diamond was writing and recording in New York in his teens, though he graduated from Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High School and attended New York University for a time. In 1965, he signed to Bang Records as an artist while also working as a songwriter. In 1966, he reached the Top Ten with his "Cherry, Cherry," while the Monkees took his "I'm a Believer" to #1. "Cherry, Cherry" was the first of five straight Top 20 hits, among them "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon."
