UN Security Council adopts statement on DPRK launch 　

The UN Security Council on Monday adopted a presidential statement on the recent launch by the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea (DPRK), saying it is "in contravention of Security Council resolution 1718" and urging the early resumption of the six-party talks.

In a non-binding statement, the 15-member council "condemns" the April 5 launch by the DPRK, reiterates that the DPRK "must comply fully with its obligations" under resolution 1718 and demands that the country "not conduct any further launch."

The council called for the "early resumption" of the six-party talks and "a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the situation.

The council also agreed to "adjust the measures imposed" in resolution 1718, which included asset freeze and arms embargo.

The text was agreed upon Saturday by the five permanent members of the Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States -- and Japan after days of intense negotiations at the UN headquarters.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the statement, saying it "sends a unified message of the international community" on the launch.

Ban hopes the council's unified response "will pave the way for renewed efforts towards the peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues in the region," said a statement issued by Ban's press office.

聯(lián)合國(guó)安理會(huì)13日就朝鮮發(fā)射問(wèn)題一致通過(guò)了一份主席聲明。

聲明說(shuō)，朝鮮于4月5日進(jìn)行的發(fā)射活動(dòng)違背安理會(huì)2006年通過(guò)的第1718號(hào)決議，安理會(huì)對(duì)此表示“譴責(zé)”，并要求朝鮮不再進(jìn)行進(jìn)一步的發(fā)射活動(dòng)。

聲明說(shuō)，安理會(huì)支持并呼吁盡早恢復(fù)六方會(huì)談，敦促六方努力全面執(zhí)行2005年9月19日達(dá)成的共同聲明及其后達(dá)成的共識(shí)文件，維護(hù)朝鮮半島和東北亞地區(qū)的和平與穩(wěn)定。

安理會(huì)還呼吁通過(guò)和平與外交渠道解決目前的問(wèn)題，歡迎安理會(huì)理事國(guó)和其他聯(lián)合國(guó)會(huì)員國(guó)提供便利，以推動(dòng)通過(guò)對(duì)話(huà)達(dá)成和平和全面的解決方案。

中國(guó)常駐聯(lián)合國(guó)代表張業(yè)遂在安理會(huì)通過(guò)主席聲明后對(duì)記者說(shuō)，安理會(huì)對(duì)朝鮮發(fā)射問(wèn)題的反應(yīng)應(yīng)該是慎重、適度的。中方始終認(rèn)為，安理會(huì)的反應(yīng)應(yīng)著眼于維護(hù)朝鮮半島和東北亞地區(qū)和平穩(wěn)定大局。

聯(lián)合國(guó)秘書(shū)長(zhǎng)潘基文也發(fā)表談話(huà)說(shuō)，安理會(huì)代表國(guó)際社會(huì)就朝鮮最近的發(fā)射活動(dòng)發(fā)出了“一致的信息”，這一反應(yīng)將推動(dòng)有關(guān)各方作出新的努力，盡早恢復(fù)六方會(huì)談和朝鮮半島南北對(duì)話(huà)。他表示將盡全力支持有關(guān)各方作出努力。
