1. Hearsay
Hear聽+say說
英文里把這兩個單詞拼在一起指 “小道消息”。
例:They're supposedly getting married soon, but that's just hearsay.
他們恐怕馬上結(jié)婚了,不過我也是聽說啊~
2. Hear through the grapevine
葡萄藤錯綜復雜
葡萄藤聽來的消息七彎八繞傳遞了很多遍
這個短語表示“道聽途說”、“聽到小道消息”
例:I heard through the grapevine that he was leaving - is it true?
我聽說他要走了,這事兒是真的嗎?
3. A little bird told me
只想跟小伙伴分享一下小道消息
但是不想告訴人家消息來源
那就用這個短語:就當是個小鳥告訴你的
例:
-How did you know he was leaving?
你怎么知道他要走的?

4. Catch/get wind of sth
小道消息有很多都是別人捕風捉影搞出來的
