這個(gè)用語據(jù)說起源于15世紀(jì)，本身不難理解：fall on the deaf ears 表達(dá)“(一個(gè)聲音)落在了聾的耳朵上”，那結(jié)果自然是聽不到的。有點(diǎn)像中國(guó)的諺語“瞎子點(diǎn)燈白費(fèi)蠟”、“對(duì)牛彈琴”，總之，都是做無用功。
