《弟子規(guī)》原名《訓(xùn)蒙文》,為清朝康熙年間秀才李毓秀所作,其內(nèi)容采用《論語(yǔ)》“學(xué)而篇”第六條“弟子,入則孝,出則弟,謹(jǐn)而信,泛愛(ài)眾,而親仁,行有余力,則以學(xué)文”的文義,列述弟子在家、出外、待人、接物與學(xué)習(xí)上應(yīng)該恪守的守則規(guī)范。后經(jīng)清朝賈存仁修訂改編,并改名為《弟子規(guī)》?!兜茏右?guī)》共有360句、1080個(gè)字,三字一句,兩句或四句連意,合轍押韻,朗朗上口;全篇先為“總敘”,然后分為“入則孝、出則弟、謹(jǐn)、信、泛愛(ài)眾、親仁、余力學(xué)文”七個(gè)部分。學(xué)《弟子規(guī)》,一般的人聽(tīng)到“弟子”,他會(huì)有錯(cuò)誤的認(rèn)知,覺(jué)得是誰(shuí)學(xué)的?小孩學(xué)的。其實(shí)這個(gè)“弟子”不是指小孩,弟子是指圣賢人的學(xué)生都叫弟子。北京弟子規(guī)教育培訓(xùn)中心鄧衛(wèi)東老師指出,“弟子”的意思也應(yīng)該與時(shí)俱進(jìn):在家指孩子;在學(xué)校指學(xué)生;在公司指員工;在單位指下一級(jí);在社會(huì)中,指公民。規(guī)也是會(huì)意字,左邊一個(gè)“夫”,右邊一個(gè)“見(jiàn)”,叫大丈夫的見(jiàn)解。當(dāng)然大丈夫的見(jiàn)解一定是隨順圣賢教誨,也就是人生的真理,來(lái)做事、來(lái)處事待人。
《弟子規(guī)》(親仁)
同是人,類不齊,流俗眾,仁者希。
It is same for all people to be human beings,
But different people belong to different classes.
Most are common and ordinary
And only a few people are of benevolence in charitable activities.
果仁者,人多畏。言不諱,色不媚。
The genuinely benevolent people
Are held by many people in awe and veneration,
And neither covert in their words
Nor fawning on with a facial expression.
能親仁,無(wú)限好,德日進(jìn),過(guò)日少。
To be friendly with those who are virtuous
Makes a man extremely nice.
With each passing day his virtues are increased
And his errors are getting less and less.
不親仁,無(wú)限害,小人進(jìn),百事壞。
Being unfriendly with virtuous people
Will harm a man greatly;
Bad people will be close to him
And he can do nothing successfully.
見(jiàn)人善,即思齊,縱去遠(yuǎn),以漸躋。
When you see a man of worth,
You should think of equaling him.
Then you can be gradually near the worth
Although you are now far behind him.
見(jiàn)人惡,即內(nèi)省,有則改,無(wú)加警。
When you see a man of evil character,
You should turn inwards and examine yourself.
You should correct your mistakes if you have made any.
If you have not made any, you should be vigilant
and on guard against making mistakes.
