徐燦，字湘蘋(píng)，又字明霞、明深，江蘇吳縣（今蘇州市吳中區(qū)、相城區(qū)）人。陳之遴繼配。幼穎悟，通書(shū)史。陳之遴兩次流徙，均曾隨行?？滴跏辏?671），奉旨?xì)w之遴之骨。晚年學(xué)佛，更號(hào)紫?。早年雅好吟詠，尤喜為詞。被詞人陳維崧譽(yù)為南宋后閨秀第一。有《拙政園詩(shī)馀》《拙政園詩(shī)集》。

春光九十已全拋。

送也魂銷(xiāo)，

留也魂銷(xiāo)。

東君傳語(yǔ)謝妖嬈。

去也無(wú)聊，

往也無(wú)聊。

玉床香被展輕綃。

長(zhǎng)也今宵，

短也今宵。

愁紅休怕綠陰交，

早也明朝，

遲也明朝。

Xu Can

Three months of spring radiance have all abandoned one:

Seeing it off consumes the soul;

Keeping it consumes the soul.

The Eastern Lord sends word to bid the enchanting adieu

Leaving makes one listless;

Staying makes one listless.

On the jade bed the perfumed quilt displays its light silk;

Tonight is long,

Tonight is short.

Sad flowers, fear not the green shadows twining with you

Tomorrow will be early,

Tomorrow will be late.
