The campuses of some famous universities have now been referred to as new tourist attractions.People are divided on the question whether those campuses should be open to tourists, and to me,I'm on the cons side with the reasons as follows.
First and foremost, tourist groups consist of people from different walks of life and thus,it's hard to ensure that every one of them is of high quality, which may bring on unexpected crimes to the campuses purely for students. In the second place, just take a glance at other hot tourist spots after national holidays and we may find litter all over, flowers picked, ridiculous words written on stones. To such a great extent has the environment been damaged that local governments cannot but spend huge expenses to maintain the broken facilities. What's more, well goes the saying,“Universities are monasteries for spirits.” For most people who visit the campuses, they are curious to have a look at cultural atmosphere and soothing surroundings where college students study. As for us students, what we should do is spare no effort to work hard in order to become a part of it one day rather than simply buy a ticket and take photos around.
Apart from what is mentioned above,if people still adhere to visiting campuses, there also exists something governments can do to lower the potential risk of damaging the environment.Determine certain “Campuses Open Day” so as to prevent the students from being disturbed,or develop a professional guide team to stop tourists' impolite deeds.
In a nutshell, campuses should deserve as much protection against noise or interruption as possible for the sake of those who are our country's hope to focus on academy, thus being able to make contributions to society in the future. So,just leave the campuses peaceful places to think,to learn, and to create, rather than visit.
