C:Hey, Mary,我知道etiquette這個(gè)詞的意思是禮節(jié),禮貌。可是,什么是netiquette? NETIQUETTE。
M:Netiquette是人們新創(chuàng)造的一個(gè)詞。意思是網(wǎng)上禮節(jié),也就是good behavior on the Internet。
C:網(wǎng)上還有禮節(jié)!Why don't you give me an example.
M:比如說(shuō),你最好不要全用大寫(xiě)來(lái)寫(xiě)email。If you type in all capital letters, people would think you are shouting your message。
C:噢,怪不得那天銷(xiāo)售部的Robert問(wèn)我:Why did you yell at me? 可有的人給我email全用小寫(xiě),那是什么意思呀?Whisper?說(shuō)悄悄話(huà)呀?
M:No。 那天財(cái)務(wù)部的Kevin不是給我們倆寫(xiě)的email都用小寫(xiě)嗎?全用小寫(xiě)一般是不正式的,like chatting with your friends。
C:Email本身就是不正式的。
M:That's true, but that does not mean you can ignore appropriate etiquette。我得去開(kāi)個(gè)會(huì),午飯時(shí)再接著談吧!
C:Fine! See you at the cafeteria at 12:00pm.

C:我剛才真是餓死了,不過(guò)我很想知道還有哪些網(wǎng)上禮節(jié)。
M:首先,在你送出e-mail 之前,check if there are mistakes such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and word choice. If your e-mail is sloppy, you will be perceived as sloppy and disrespectful to the recipients.
C:我有兩次發(fā)e-mail給客戶(hù)時(shí)忘了附件。幾個(gè)客戶(hù)馬上回e-mail問(wèn)我:What attachment?
M:是呀,一旦e-mail發(fā)出去以后,你就沒(méi)法收回了。發(fā)現(xiàn)錯(cuò)誤后最好的辦法就是糾正錯(cuò)誤,再重新發(fā)一次。你應(yīng)該在subject line里寫(xiě):corrected version with attachment included。
C:下回我一定這樣做。
M:最好是不要出這樣的差錯(cuò)。Before you hit the send button, check your spelling, grammar, punctuation and word choice. Sloppiness gives people a bad impression and is disrespectful to others. When mistakes are found, correct them and resend the e-mail. Typing in all capital letters seems that you are shouting, or typing in all lower keys are like chatting with your friends.
