A: Hey, Yuri, I thought we would talk a little bit about immigration because you're from Italy, and I'm from the U.S. and both of our countries have issues with immigration. Can you talk a little bit about the immigration issues now in Italy?
 
嗨，尤里，我們來(lái)談?wù)勔泼駟?wèn)題吧，你來(lái)自意大利，我來(lái)自美國(guó)，這兩個(gè)國(guó)家都有移民問(wèn)題。你能談?wù)勀壳耙獯罄囊泼駟?wèn)題嗎？
 
B: Yes, immigration in Italy is a recent problem because until maybe the 80's the population was mostly Italian. Later we got a lot of people from Africa and from Eastern Europe, and people started getting a bit dodgy with that.
 
好，移民是意大利最近突出的一個(gè)問(wèn)題，因?yàn)樵谏鲜兰o(jì)80年代時(shí)，意大利的人口主要以意大利人為主。此后，有很多非洲和東歐人來(lái)到意大利，因此人們開(kāi)始變得有些不安。
 
A: Right, so people were't happy that non-Italians were coming into the country basically?
 
人們不喜歡其他國(guó)家的人進(jìn)入意大利？
 
B: Right, some people think that it is bad for the economy, and some people think it's bad for Italy itself.
 
對(duì)，有些人認(rèn)為這對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)有害，有些人認(rèn)為這對(duì)意大利有害。
 
A: For the culture?
 
對(duì)文化有害？
 
B: For the culture itself.
 
對(duì)文化有影響。
 
A: So basically you said people came in you said to the economy for jobs to do... ? Were they coming in to do jobs that Italians didn't want to do?
 
基本上來(lái)說(shuō)，人們到意大利尋求工作。他們是做那些意大利人不想做的工作嗎？
 
B: Basically we have two different kinds of immigration. Lately, a lot of people, they are from country with the war problems, so they try to come into Italy with boats. They are illegal. So, and what people think is that they shouldn't even try to come in.
 
可以說(shuō)意大利有兩種移民。最近有很多來(lái)自戰(zhàn)亂國(guó)家的人進(jìn)入意大利，他們?cè)噲D坐船來(lái)到意大利。他們是非法移民。人們認(rèn)為這些人就不應(yīng)該試圖進(jìn)入意大利。
 
A: Right.
 
好。
 
B: Other people think that, as Italian we are a real population. We immigrate everywhere on the planet. Everybody should be welcome and get the favor back.
 
其他人則認(rèn)為，我們意大利人也會(huì)移民到世界各地。所有人都應(yīng)該受歡迎而且也應(yīng)該歡迎別人。
 
A: Right, so basically, the population in Italy is divided. Some people are for the immigration and some are against.
 
基本上來(lái)說(shuō)，意大利人對(duì)此有分歧。有些人支持移民，有些人反對(duì)移民。
 
B: Exactly, yes.
 
沒(méi)錯(cuò)。
 
A: What are your feeling about immigration?
 
你怎么看待移民問(wèn)題？
 
B: Well, I myself have lived in different foreign countries. I always been welcomed. I never had problems with it, and I think that if people, they come to Italy, they're honest people, they want to work, please. No problem at all.
 
我曾在不同國(guó)家生活過(guò)。我總是受到歡迎。我從來(lái)沒(méi)有因此遇到過(guò)問(wèn)題，所以我認(rèn)為，如果人們來(lái)到意大利，他們是誠(chéng)實(shí)的人而且想工作，那應(yīng)該歡迎他們。沒(méi)有任何問(wèn)題。
 
A: Is the Italian government trying to do anything to stop immigration or slow immigration, or are they trying to encourage it?
 
意大利政府有試圖阻止移民或減緩移民進(jìn)程嗎？還是鼓勵(lì)移民？
 
B: It depends what government goes. Sometimes if it's a left government, they try to help. The right one, they try to stop.
 
這個(gè)要看政府的派別。如果是左翼政府執(zhí)政，那他們會(huì)試圖鼓勵(lì)移民。但如果是右翼政府，那他們就會(huì)阻止移民。
 
A: So if somebody is caught trying to come into Italy on say a boat, are they expelled from the country?
 
如果非法移民在試圖坐船進(jìn)入意大利時(shí)被抓，那他們是會(huì)被驅(qū)逐出意大利嗎？
 
B: No, they get to refugees camps, and then since they are usually smart they come without papers, they are very difficult to track down, and they try to help them at the police. They don't beat them up or anything. No violence. The problem is the people that actually bring them in, they make a lot of money on them. That's the bigger problem. Also, they are connected with the mafia as well.
 
不會(huì)，他們會(huì)被送到難民營(yíng)，因?yàn)檫@些人很聰明，他們偷渡到意大利時(shí)不會(huì)攜帶任何文件，所以很難追蹤他們的情況，警察會(huì)試圖幫助他們。但是他們不會(huì)毆打這些偷渡者。不會(huì)出現(xiàn)暴力情況。但是問(wèn)題是，幫助他們偷渡的人會(huì)利用他們賺很多錢(qián)。這是更為嚴(yán)重的問(wèn)題，而且這些人通常和黑手黨有聯(lián)系。
 
A: Yeah, the smuggling. The human traffickers. Yeah, the U.S. has the same problem. Anyway, thanks a lot. It sounds like it's very similar to the U.S.
