A: Mariel, you are from Finland.
 
瑪麗埃爾，你來(lái)自芬蘭。
 
B: Oh, yeah. Yes, I am.
 
對(duì)，我來(lái)自芬蘭。
 
A: What city are you from?
 
你來(lái)自哪座城市？
 
B: I live in a city called Espoo, which is right next to Helsinki, but I was born in the center of Finland in a place called Jyvaskyla.
 
我生活在埃斯波，這個(gè)城市和赫爾辛基相鄰，不過(guò)我出生在芬蘭中部城市于韋斯屈萊。
 
A: Right in the middle?
 
在芬蘭中心嗎？
 
B: Yeah, pretty much right in the middle.

A: So is that way out in nature in the forest, or is it a big city?

B: It's a reasonable size city, maybe the fifth largest in Finland, but it is very, a very natural place still. It's surrounded by lakes and forests and lots of cliffs and really beautiful scenery. Yeah.
 
那座城市的規(guī)模合理，應(yīng)該是芬蘭的第五大城市，不過(guò)那里仍然極具自然特性。那里被湖泊、森林和懸崖包圍，景色非常美。
 
A: Well, that sounds nice.
 
聽起來(lái)不錯(cuò)。
 
B: Yeah. Yeah, I love it there. I go back there every year to visit my hometown.
 
對(duì)，我非常喜歡那里。我每年都會(huì)回家鄉(xiāng)看看。
 
A: Now does your family still live in your hometown?
 
你家人還住在家鄉(xiāng)嗎？
 
B: No, they live down south near Helsinki.

A: OK, is that common? Everybody moves to the big city.

B: Pretty much, yeah. Especially young people. They want to get jobs and go to schools near Helsinki. Yeah.

A: Now is Finland part of the European Union?
 
芬蘭是歐盟成員國(guó)吧？
 
B: Yes, it is since 1995.

A: OK, so because it's part of the European Union do a lot of young people decide to leave Finland and go live in other countries?
 
好，既然芬蘭是歐盟成員國(guó)，那有沒(méi)有很多年輕人離開芬蘭去其他國(guó)家？
 
B: The Finnish young people are actually very outgoing and they're very interested foreign cultures so a lot of people take a year or two just to travel, just to see the world, visit some places, and yeah, a lot of people go out to other countries to study as well. Yep, mainly Europe but also a lot of my friends for example went to India for six months or to South America.
 
芬蘭人很開朗，對(duì)外國(guó)文化非常感興趣，所以有許多人會(huì)用一到兩年的時(shí)間去旅游，看看這個(gè)世界，參觀各個(gè)景點(diǎn)，也有許多人去外國(guó)留學(xué)。多數(shù)人會(huì)去歐洲國(guó)家，不過(guò)我也有很多朋友會(huì)在印度生活過(guò)六個(gè)月，也有人去南美洲。
 
A: OK. Sounds fun.
 
好，聽起來(lái)真有意思。
 
B: Yeah.
 
對(duì)。
 
A: But because you're in the European Union you can go live in France or Germany or Spain if you want, correct?
 
因?yàn)榉姨m是歐盟成員國(guó)，所以如果你們想，你們就可以去法國(guó)、德國(guó)或是西班牙生活，對(duì)吧？
 
B: Yeah. It's very easy. Just go.
 
對(duì)，而且很簡(jiǎn)單。只要過(guò)去就可以了。
 
A: But do most Finnish people prefer to stay in Finland or do a lot of people like to go move to warmer climates?
 
那大部分芬蘭人是更喜歡留在芬蘭，還是喜歡搬去擁有溫暖氣候的國(guó)家生活？
 
B: Finnish people are very patriotic. We really love our country. We like to visit other places but I think even if we live abroad for a long time most people always some back to Finland. I think especially if they want to have a family because Finland is a very safe place and it's very good to raise your kids in Finland.
 
芬蘭人非常愛(ài)國(guó)。我們很愛(ài)我們的國(guó)家。我們喜歡去其他地方旅游，但是我認(rèn)為即使我們?cè)谕鈬?guó)生活了很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間，大部分芬蘭人還是會(huì)回到芬蘭。尤其是在他們想組建家庭時(shí)，因?yàn)榉姨m是一個(gè)非常安全的國(guó)家，很適合撫養(yǎng)孩子。
 
A: Sounds like a nice place.

B: Yeah, I think so. You should come and visit.

A: Oh, I'd love to.
