Susan: Yes. So what else to do now?
Jenny: Nothing. The teacher said the only thing left was to get back all the disposable cups later.
Susan: I see. How do you like the game?
Jenny: Terrific. There is one girl said:“It is the best game I've ever watched.”
Susan: Who do you think do better?
Jenny: Clive was really outstanding. Not only he put on a big show himself, but also he inspired the whole team.
Susan: Exactly. He is unbelievable.
Jenny: On the other hand, I think the other team won everyone's respect. The leader said they could have crumpled at the beginning, but they just carried on and never lost their cool.
Susan: They were really tough.
Jenny: The thing I like most about them is that they did not play with a heavy heart even though at that time the odds seemed to be against them.
Susan: I can't agree more. Okay, time is up. Let's do “the last thing”.

Grammar 語(yǔ)法小結(jié)——直接引語(yǔ)和間接引語(yǔ)
直接引語(yǔ)就是直接引用別人的話,話語(yǔ)放在引號(hào)內(nèi);間接引語(yǔ)就是用自己的話轉(zhuǎn)述別人的話,不加引號(hào)。直接引語(yǔ)變成間接引語(yǔ)時(shí),間接引語(yǔ)通常以賓語(yǔ)從句的形式出現(xiàn),要注意人稱、時(shí)態(tài)、指示代詞、時(shí)間及地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ)的變化。
1.直接引語(yǔ)和間接引語(yǔ)
(1)直接引語(yǔ)
He said, “I get on well with children here.”
他說(shuō):“我在這里和小朋友們相處得很好。”
(2)間接引語(yǔ)
He said that he got on well with children there.
他說(shuō)他在那里和小朋友們相處得很好。
2.直接引語(yǔ)變?yōu)殚g接引語(yǔ)
(1)如果直接引語(yǔ)是陳述句,在變?yōu)殚g接引語(yǔ)時(shí),由連詞that引導(dǎo)(that可省略)。主句中如果有say to somebody(對(duì)某人說(shuō)),通常變?yōu)閠ell somebody(告訴某人)
She said to me, “You speak English better than me.”
她對(duì)我說(shuō):“你的英語(yǔ)說(shuō)得比我好。”
She told me that I spoke English better than her.
她對(duì)我說(shuō)我的英語(yǔ)說(shuō)得比她好。
(2)直接引語(yǔ)如果是一般疑問(wèn)句,變?yōu)殚g接引語(yǔ)時(shí),要用連詞whether或if引導(dǎo),同時(shí)把原來(lái)的疑問(wèn)句語(yǔ)序變?yōu)殛愂鼍湔Z(yǔ)序。主句中的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞是said時(shí),要改為asked
She asks,“Do you like the city?” 她問(wèn):"你喜歡這個(gè)城市嗎?”
She asked whether/if I liked the city. 她問(wèn)我是否喜歡這個(gè)城市。
(3)直接引語(yǔ)如果是特殊疑問(wèn)句(即what, which, who, whom, whose, how, why, when, where, how, many, how long等引導(dǎo)的疑問(wèn)句)。變?yōu)殚g接引語(yǔ)時(shí),仍用原來(lái)的疑問(wèn)詞引導(dǎo),但要把原來(lái)的疑問(wèn)句語(yǔ)序改為陳述句語(yǔ)序
He asks,“who lives next door?” 他問(wèn):"誰(shuí)住在隔壁?”
He asked who lived next door. 他問(wèn)誰(shuí)住在隔壁。
