When I was very small, my teachers told me to let my parents sign their names on my homework so as to prove that they had assisted in doing my homework. Most schools have carried out this policy for a long time and now some people have doubted the necessity of parents' signature. They believed that it is both parents and teachers' duty to check children's homework, but the schools only leave this job to the parents. In my opinion, there is no need to sign the name, because there is no doubt that parents have the duty to help their children solve the problems, but some homework should be checked by teachers as they know how to better correct students' mistakes, then to better improve students' ability. So the best way to help students get improve lies in both parents and teachers' effort.
