2014雅思口語(yǔ)part2題目:do you sometimes prefer to send a text message instead of telephoning

雅思口語(yǔ)part2范例一:

Yes certainly. It's a lot easier to actually "hear" someone on the other end, and you don't have to worry about how low someone's voice is. You can even talk to someone late at night without having to wake your family up. Also, I find texting to be more convenient. Whenever you're in a rush or you have just a little thing to tell someone, you can just send them a quick little text. It gets annoying when you repeatedly call someone to tell them a little joke. When I was taking a summer class at a university, my classmate/friend would call me about twice a day, even when I was eating, doing homework, working out at the gym, or about to take a shower. It turns out that she didn't have texting at that time.

雅思口語(yǔ)part2范例二:

Yes, especially if it's for something not so important. I think a text message is also better if you know that the friend or customer has a busy lifestyle and may be unavailable to talk on the phone for leisure.I often prefer to send text messages to my father when he is at work because he might not be available to talk to. And I find texting very boring and time comsuming but I sometimes prefer it because it is less costly and sometimes free.

Compared to phone calls, I prefer texting, 'cause it's possible that someone is busy right now and unavailable for answering the phone, then texting them definitely won't disturb them. In addition, you can check your SMS before sending it out to avoid errors. Moreover, SMS is cheap, between 1 to 3 NTD each.
