二、部分否定

1.表示“全部，完全”意義的總括詞與not連用，構成部分否定，意為“并非都……”

（1）“all，both，every，everything，everyone，everywhere+not” 構成部分否定

All bamboo doesn’t grow tall.并非所有的竹子都會長得很高。

Not both the brothers are doctors.弟兄倆并非都是醫(yī)生。

Not everyone likes this book.并非人人都喜歡這本書。

Everything is not settled.并非一切都解決了。

（2）“always，wholly，entirely，altogether，completely，all the time+not” 構成部分否定

He isn’t always so happy.他并不總是這么快樂。

Your idea isn’t wholly practical.你的想法并非完全現(xiàn)實。

I don’t altogether agree with you.我并不完全同意你的看法。

【提示】

①部分否定句式中的not 可置于句首或句中。

Not every book is educative.不是每本書都有教育意義的。

Every book is not educative.

②“not ...and ...”否定and前面的內容；“not ...or ...”是完全否定。

She can’t speak English and Chinese.她不會說英語但會說漢語。

She can’t speak English or Chinese.她既不會說英語也不會說漢語。

2.全部否定：用表示全部否定的否定詞構成全部否定

None of the ants go out for food.沒有螞蟻出去找食物。

Neither of the brothers is a doctor.兄弟倆誰都不是醫(yī)生。

No apples are red.=None of the apples is/are red.沒有一個蘋果是紅的。

He is never so happy.他從未這么高興過。
