托福閱讀TPO4的長難句分析

　　難句類型：原因狀語從句+并列結(jié)構(gòu)+復雜修飾

　　固定搭配to be expected表示“可以預見”，as在這里可以表示伴隨的狀態(tài)，譯為“隨著”，也可以看作引導原因狀語從句。另外一個需要注意的就是句中兩次出現(xiàn)的并列結(jié)構(gòu)：logging，burning，and clearing，eventually replacing和roads，cities，towns，and factories由于意向一致，這兩次并列的出現(xiàn)在閱讀時都可以以其中一個作為代表提取出來，從而簡化較長的句子，也降低了理解和記憶的難度。

　　難句類型：插入成分+固定搭配+復雜修飾

　　句中比較明顯的插入成分，即出現(xiàn)在兩個逗號之間的，有“like huckleberry and vine maple”， 和“longtime game biologist in the Pacific Northwest”，但從廣義上來說，開頭的In addition to finding an increase of suitable browse，也可以看做是插入成分。在主干部分，提取出find……to be這一固定搭配使句意的理解得以簡化：研究對象是“quality of browse in the open areas”，特點是“substantially more nutritive”。
