托福語法之副詞修飾動詞

　　例如：You can’t possibly arrive there on time. (謂語動詞)

　　It’s inconvenient to contact him directly. (不定式中的動詞)

　　Her composition is frequently referred to as original. (被動式)

　　改錯題中常誤用形容詞修飾動詞，要注意識別

　　例題：

　　(1)

　　In the United States， sleds for recreation were first produced commercial in the 1870’s or thereabouts.

　　應改為：commercially

　　解釋：形容詞commercial不能修飾謂語動詞producehttp，需改為副詞

　　(2)

　　According to anthropologists， the earliest ancestors of humans that stood upright resembled chimpanzees ----， with sloping foreheads and protruding brows.

　　(A) facially

　　(B) their faces

　　(C) having facial

　　(D) they had faces

　　答案：A

　　解釋：resemble一詞是本句的謂語動詞， 已有了賓語chimpanzees， 之后需要的只可能是用來補充說明的非謂語， B、D可先排除; facial是形容詞， 不能作have的賓語， 因此C肯定不對; A是副詞， 恰好修飾動詞作狀語
