chairman： 這里指“董事會(huì)主席”

business： 如果沒(méi)有接觸過(guò)較多正式的商業(yè)文本，可能不太容易知道business還可以是可數(shù)名詞。是的，可數(shù)名詞時(shí)，business的意思是“商業(yè)機(jī)構(gòu)”。仔細(xì)聽(tīng)，Jack Ma好像沒(méi)有把復(fù)數(shù)給念出來(lái)。

這里有意思的是：Jack Ma說(shuō)了括號(hào)前的那個(gè)部分，字幕顯示了括號(hào)里的部分。Mission和Vision這兩個(gè)詞也很值得玩味。

on their terms，一個(gè)非常重要的詞組，“根據(jù)他們的情況”，這個(gè)詞組在BEC中級(jí)考試(真題第四輯)的完形填空中就出現(xiàn)過(guò)。

significantly,這個(gè)詞要念完整很難，Jack Ma還是很認(rèn)真把這個(gè)詞的每一個(gè)音節(jié)都說(shuō)到位，尤其是-ly韻味十足，贊一個(gè)。

household name：家喻戶(hù)曉的名字

最后的定于從句，嚴(yán)格意義上講是不精確的，最后的them應(yīng)該省略。例如：我們說(shuō)the girl I met(我見(jiàn)到的那個(gè)女孩),而不說(shuō)the girl I met her

spirit這個(gè)詞很容易念錯(cuò)。關(guān)鍵就在于p和r之間的i，這個(gè)i也應(yīng)該實(shí)打?qū)嵉陌l(fā)出來(lái)。注意了，雪碧是Sprite(精靈)。

ignite算是個(gè)比較高級(jí)的詞匯了，意為點(diǎn)燃。但是需要特別注意發(fā)音。

entrepreneur這個(gè)詞既難拼寫(xiě)也難讀準(zhǔn)(但卻是BEC考試的高頻詞匯)，Jack Ma讀這個(gè)單詞的時(shí)候出了點(diǎn)小問(wèn)題，由于這是來(lái)自法語(yǔ)的一個(gè)單詞，因此en的發(fā)音為on, 最后的eur發(fā)音應(yīng)該為eh.

commerce，商業(yè)。Alibaba所在的行業(yè)正是e-commerce，電子商務(wù)。commercial的確是它的形容詞，但是別忘記commercial也可以成為一個(gè)名詞，最典型的例子：TV commercial.

Alibaba has come a long way, but we want to be a company that can last 102 years. We still have 87 years to go. And we believe one thing, today is difficult, tomorrow is more difficult, but the day after tomorrow is beautiful.

為何是102年?也許這個(gè)道理就像蘋(píng)果的logo被咬了一口吧。最后的一句非常樸實(shí)的翻譯了“道路是曲折的，前途是光明的”。

survive這個(gè)詞的用法很特殊，在某種境遇下生存下來(lái)，survive之后無(wú)需加介詞。
