The United Nations supports the rights of persons with autism to fully participate in society, in line with theConvention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilitiesand the2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

聯(lián)合國(guó)按照《殘疾人權(quán)利公約》和《2030年可持續(xù)發(fā)展議程》,支持自閉癥患者充分參與社會(huì)生活的權(quán)利。

In its pledge to leave no one behind, the2030 Agendarepresents a commitment to reducing inequality through social, economic and political inclusion for all people, including persons with disabilities. Yet many persons with autism still live in isolation, discriminated against and disconnected from their communities, in institutions or even in their own homes.

《2030年議程》誓言不讓任何一個(gè)人掉隊(duì),就是致力于通過(guò)在社會(huì)、經(jīng)濟(jì)和政治方面做到對(duì)包括殘疾人在內(nèi)所有人的包容,減少不平等現(xiàn)象。然而,許多自閉癥患者仍然遭到孤立,受到歧視,與社區(qū)脫節(jié),在照護(hù)機(jī)構(gòu)中如此,甚至在自己家中也是如此。

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated many of these inequalities through the loss or reduction of services at school, in homes and in the community. We need to ensure that the rights, perspectives and well-being of persons with disabilities, including those with autism, are an integral part of building forward better from the pandemic.

The solution lies in more community-based support systems for persons with autism. We must also establish inclusive education systems and training programmes that enable students with autism to access the educational path of their choice. And we must make technology solutions available for persons with autism to live independently in their communities. Active consultation with persons with disabilities and their representative organizations should be at the centre of these efforts.

解決辦法在于為自閉癥患者提供更多以社區(qū)為基礎(chǔ)的支持系統(tǒng)。我們還必須建立包容性教育體系和培訓(xùn)方案,使患有自閉癥的學(xué)生能夠走上自己選擇的受教育道路。而且,我們必須為自閉癥患者提供技術(shù)解決方案,使其能夠在社區(qū)中獨(dú)立生活。與殘疾人及其代表組織積極協(xié)商,應(yīng)當(dāng)是這些工作的核心內(nèi)容。

On this World Autism Awareness Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to an inclusive, equitable and sustainable world for persons with autism.
