聽眾Emma來信，詢問如何表達(dá)把某事先擱在一旁，先不提某事，或討論某事，我們可以用"put…in perspective"這個表達(dá)法：
Let's put the whole marriage thing in perspective. 我們先把結(jié)婚一事擱在一旁。(意思是放一放，先處理其它的事)
Let's put the whole Diana thing in perspective.我們先把戴安娜這事擱一擱。
Shall we put the whole job thing in perspective? 我們先不要去關(guān)注工作這件事嗎?
I have to put your application in perspective for a while.我不得不先把你的申請擱置一段時間。
I can't put it in perspective, I need to get it done by today. 這事我不能再擱了，必須今天完成。
All right, let's put all your troubles in perspective, right now it's time to have fun. 接下來，我們學(xué)習(xí)一下如何用"how come"來引導(dǎo)疑問句，非常簡單，直接在"how come"后面加一個陳述句就可以了，請注意是"陳述句"，不用把它變成疑問句式，意思是"怎么會…"，"為什么…"，"如何…"
How come you're dumped by your boyfriend?你怎么就被你男朋友甩了呢?
How come you're a photographer?你是如何一名攝影師的?
How come we've never met before?我們以前怎么就沒見過面呢?
How come you've never got to talk to him?你怎么就一點(diǎn)都沒有和他談話的機(jī)會呢?
How come you're one of the top 5 students? 你是如何躋身成為前5名優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生的?
