  現(xiàn)在幾乎所有的公共場(chǎng)所,像辦公室,飯館兒,都是禁煙的,所以想抽煙的朋友們只能去戶外。而一個(gè)適用于他們的搭訕?lè)绞揭舱Q生了,就叫做smirting(借火搭訕)。

  Feifei: Why are you looking so happy Diarmuid?

  菲菲:迪爾米德,為什么你看上去那么開(kāi)心?

  Diarmuid: Well, earlier today, I was outside on my telephone, when a lady asked me for a lighter. I think she might have been trying to smirt with me.

  迪爾米德:嗯,今天早晨我在外面打電話,一位女士過(guò)來(lái)問(wèn)我借打火機(jī)。我覺(jué)得她是想要“借火搭訕”。

  Feifei: Smirt?

  菲菲:借火搭訕?

  Diarmuid: Yes, smirt, S.M.I.R.T, smirt. Now smirt is a slang word to describe flirting with another person when you are smoking.

  迪爾米德:是的,借火搭訕?,F(xiàn)在這是個(gè)俚語(yǔ),指的是在吸煙的時(shí)候和某人調(diào)情。

  Feifei: It sounds like smoking and flirting have been joined together to make the word smirting.

  菲菲:聽(tīng)上去是吸煙和調(diào)情這兩個(gè)詞加在一起構(gòu)成了這個(gè)詞。

  Diarmuid: Exactly, that is how the word smirting is created.

  迪爾米德:確實(shí)是,這就是這個(gè)詞的構(gòu)成。

  Diarmuid: But I didn't have a lighter, because I don't smoke, so that was the end of the conversation.

  What do people usually say when they are smirting?
