對于這類人，漢語中有一個形象的說法——“騎墻派”。

“騎墻”字面意思是“to sit with your legs on either side of the fence”，與英文“sit on a fence”含義相近，都表示“猶豫不決，采取觀望態(tài)度(straddle)”。帶有貶義色彩。

當爭議發(fā)生時，“騎墻派”通常立場中立，兩方面都討好，不想得罪任何一方(support both sides in a disagreement because they do not want to annoy or offend either side)。
