　　1. 解詞釋義

　　美國(guó)人把無(wú)目的的閑聊比作“向微風(fēng)射擊”。Shoot的意思是“發(fā)射，開(kāi)槍，開(kāi)炮”，breeze的意思是“陣陣微風(fēng)”。Shoot the breeze描述的就是幾個(gè)朋友在一起隨便聊天，或者一兩位知己清清靜靜地坐著閑聊的情景，這種感覺(jué)就如享受在受著微風(fēng)吹拂一樣的愜意。該習(xí)語(yǔ)是第二次世界大戰(zhàn)時(shí)期的用語(yǔ)。當(dāng)時(shí)候在微風(fēng)中閑聊往事成為軍人上船后或現(xiàn)在留在基地時(shí)最喜愛(ài)的消遣，尤其是指感傷地思索或述說(shuō)。對(duì)話中“Don’t shoot thebreeze.”的意思就是“叫別人不要閑聊。”
