誠實
An investment counselor decided to go out on her own. She was shrewd and diligent, so businesskept coming in, and pretty soon she realized that sheneeded an in-house counsel. She began tointerview young lawyers.
一個投資顧問決定自己干,她夠精明和勤奮,所以她的生意蒸蒸日上。不久以后她就意識到自己需要一個法律顧問。于是她開始面試年輕的律師。
"As I'm sure you can understand," she started off with one of the first applicants, "inbusiness like this, our personal integrity must be beyond question."

She leaned forward. "Mr. Peterson, are you an 'honest' lawyer?"

"Honest?" replied the job prospect. "Let me tell you something about honest. Why, I'm sohonest that my father lent me $15,000 for my education, and I paid back every penny theminute I tried my first case."
“誠實嗎?”應(yīng)聘者答道,“讓我來告訴你一件有關(guān)于誠實的事。是的,我很誠實,我父親借給我15000元錢讓我上學(xué),而我在辦理我的第一個案子的時候就把所有的錢都還清了。”
"Impressive. And what sort of case was that?"

The young lawyer squirmed in his seat and admitted, "He sued me for the money."
