The professor of a contract law class asked one of his better students, "If you were to give someonean orange, how would you go about it?"
合同法教授問他的一個好學生:“如果你要給某人一個橘子,你要怎么說?”
The student replied, "Here's an orange."
那學生答:“給你個橘子。”
The professor was outraged. "No! No! Think like a lawyer!"
教授生氣了。“不對!不對!要像個律師那樣!”
The student then replied, "Okay. I'd tell him, I hereby give and convey to you all and singular,my estate and interests, rights, title, claim, and advantages of and inside orange, togetherwith all its rind, juice, pulp, and seeds, and all rights and advantages with full power to bite,cut, freeze and otherwise eat, the same, or give the same way with and without the pulp,juice, rind and seeds, anything herein before or hereinafter or in any deed, or deeds,instruments of whatever nature or kind whatsoever to the contrary in anywisenotwithstanding..."
那學生又答:“好吧。我會對他說,‘我將我的財產(chǎn)這只橘子的外皮、汁液、果肉和種子,連同它的收益及所有權(quán),以及咬、切、凍或其他吃這只橘子的全權(quán)贈予你。無論這只橘子是否帶有外皮、汁液、果肉及種子,任何在此之前或之后的行為,不論以何種方式使用天然或非天然的工具,盡管……’”
