英國(guó)女王特別演講

當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間周日，英國(guó)女王伊麗莎白二世(Queen Elizabeth II)發(fā)表特別電視講話，向新冠肺炎疫情在英國(guó)發(fā)生以來(lái)參與抗疫的每個(gè)人表達(dá)感謝，呼吁英國(guó)民眾團(tuán)結(jié)一致對(duì)抗疫情。

這是她在位68年以來(lái)，第五次發(fā)表非常規(guī)性的電視講話，足以見(jiàn)得此次疫情對(duì)英國(guó)社會(huì)的影響之大。

It is only the fifth time the monarch has given such a speech in her 68-year reign.

一開(kāi)篇，女王便直入主題——英國(guó)當(dāng)下面臨的處境非常艱難，疫情蔓延仍在上升期，對(duì)每個(gè)人的生活都造成了影響。

I am speaking to you at what I know is an increasingly challenging time. A time of disruption in the life of our country: a disruption that has brought grief to some, financial difficulties to many, and enormous changes to the daily lives of us all.

據(jù)我所知，當(dāng)下挑戰(zhàn)愈加嚴(yán)峻。此刻我們國(guó)家的社會(huì)生活被打亂：一些人遭遇悲痛經(jīng)歷，許多人面臨經(jīng)濟(jì)困難，所有人的日常生活都發(fā)生了巨大變化。

緊接著，她向身處抗疫一線的醫(yī)務(wù)工作者和所有堅(jiān)守崗位的工作人員表達(dá)了感謝。

I want to thank everyone on the NHS front line, as well as care workers and those carrying out essential roles, who selflessly continue their day-to-day duties outside the home in support of us all.

我要感謝奮戰(zhàn)在英國(guó)國(guó)民醫(yī)療服務(wù)體系一線的抗疫人員，還有那些護(hù)理工作者和堅(jiān)守關(guān)鍵工作崗位的人員，為了我們大家，他們離家外出工作，夜以繼日無(wú)私奉獻(xiàn)。

I am sure the nation will join me in assuring you that what you do is appreciated and every hour of your hard work brings us closer to a return to more normal times.

女王還向所有居家隔離的人表達(dá)了感謝，稱(chēng)這樣的做法保護(hù)了弱勢(shì)群體。

I also want to thank those of you who are staying at home, thereby helping to protect the vulnerable and sparing many families the pain already felt by those who have lost loved ones.

我還要感謝那些居家的人，你們的做法保護(hù)了弱勢(shì)群體，避免了更多家庭遭受失去親人的痛苦。

她表示，只要團(tuán)結(jié)一致一定能戰(zhàn)勝病毒，希望將來(lái)人們會(huì)為今天的行動(dòng)感到驕傲和自豪。

Together we are tackling this disease, and I want to reassure you that if we remain united and resolute, then we will overcome it.

我們正在共同應(yīng)對(duì)這一疾病，我確信的是，只要我們團(tuán)結(jié)一致，堅(jiān)定信念，就一定能戰(zhàn)勝它。

I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge. And those who come after us will say the Britons of this generation were as strong as any.

While we have faced challenges before, this one is different. This time we join with all nations across the globe in a common endeavour, using the great advances of science and our instinctive compassion to heal.

雖然我們以前也曾遇到過(guò)挑戰(zhàn)，但這次不同。這一次我們與全球所有國(guó)家一起，依靠科技的進(jìn)步和人類(lèi)本能的同情心來(lái)治愈疾病。

We will succeed — and that success will belong to every one of us.
