　　China is bigger than any other country in Asia.

　　中國(guó)比亞洲其他任何國(guó)家都大。

　　<語(yǔ)法分析>

　　比較級(jí)是兩者相比，具有其他的特點(diǎn)，多用于同一性質(zhì)或同一范疇中兩者的比較，所以這個(gè)句子就不可把other省略掉。如果不屬于同一范疇，則不用other，有時(shí)可用else。如果為了強(qiáng)調(diào)，比較級(jí)不用than結(jié)構(gòu)，而用of結(jié)構(gòu)，比較形容詞前加the。形容詞最高級(jí)與the連用，但如果不表示比較，僅強(qiáng)調(diào)“非常”時(shí)，不用定冠詞，可用不定冠詞。當(dāng)兩個(gè)最高級(jí)形容詞同時(shí)修飾一個(gè)名詞時(shí)，后一個(gè)最高級(jí)形容詞的定冠詞常省去。

　　語(yǔ)法分析：有時(shí)為了強(qiáng)調(diào)，比較級(jí)不用than結(jié)構(gòu)，而用of結(jié)構(gòu)。

　　(3) Compared with silk, cotton is cheap.

　　和絲綢相比，棉花便宜。

　　語(yǔ)法分析：“compared with和be senior to ...”也具有比較意義，但與它們連用的形容詞是原形。

　　(4) We couldn't have got better results.

　　我們不可能取得比這更好的成績(jī)。

　　語(yǔ)法分析：形容詞的比較級(jí)與虛擬語(yǔ)氣中的couldn't連用有“不可能更......”或“再......不過(guò)”的意思。
