Marni: Lily, you just got back from Europe.
Lily,你剛從歐洲回來。
Lily: Yeah.

Marni: How did you get around? It seems like you covered a lot of ground. Did you take trains, busses, fly?

Lily: It was a little bit of everything. It just depended on where we were. I actually hitchhiked for the first time while I was there.

Lily: Marni, it wasn’t that bad actually. Most people I have found are good at heart, and as long as you take care of yourself and you make sure that you don’t put yourself in a bad situation, and you judge the situation, you can’t really go wrong, I don’t think.
其實Marni，并不是那么可怕。大部分人都很真誠，只要你照顧好自己，不讓自己身處險境，好好審視情況，就不會有大問題。
Marni: Really? Because it seems like you can’t really judge the situation. You don’t know what the driver is thinking. You’re just the passenger. They could look really normal, and yet, they’re just a psychopath!
真的嗎?似乎很難審視當時的情況。你又不知道司機在想什么，你只是個游客。他們可能看起來很正常，但其實是個變態(tài)狂。

As long as you take care of yourself and you make sure that you don’t put yourself in a bad situation, and you judge the situation, you can’t really go wrong.
真實條件句
真實條件句主要用于討論一般事實，或是在某種情況下大部分時間為真實的事情。
例：It’s pretty much always true that if it rains, stuff gets wet.
如果下雨，一般東西都會被淋濕。
很容易造真實條件句，因為所有動詞都是現(xiàn)在時。使用兩個從句，第一個if+一般現(xiàn)在時動詞，第二個也用一般現(xiàn)在時動詞。
例：If students miss an exam, the professor fails them.
如果學(xué)生錯過了考試，教授會讓他們掛科。
也可以把兩個從句位置調(diào)換。
例：The professor fails students if they miss an exam.
這種句式也可以用來在某種情況下給予指示。
例：If I’m (I am) late for dinner, start eating without me.
如果我晚飯來晚了，就不用等我開餐了。

cover ground v.
【釋義】到處走、旅行
【例句】When we drove from California to New York, we covered a lot of ground every day.
當我們從加州開到紐約，我們每天都開很長一段距離。
get back v.
【釋義】回到
【例句】James got back from college on December 23. He’ll leave again right after New Years.
James在12月23日從大學(xué)回來了，他在新年后就回學(xué)校。
get around v.
