When I first came to the Federal Reserve 37 yearsago

37年前 在我剛來(lái)到美聯(lián)儲(chǔ)時(shí)

I was struck by the passion of my colleagues for the mission of the Fed

同事們對(duì)美聯(lián)儲(chǔ)使命的熱情讓我驚嘆

And these many years later, each day at work

很多年以后 在現(xiàn)在的每一天工作中

I see the importance of that passion to carrying out the Fed's duties effectively

我都能體會(huì)到有效履行美聯(lián)儲(chǔ)職責(zé)的熱情的重要性

If there is a job that you feel passionate about

如果你能找到一個(gè)讓你充滿熱情的工作

do what you can to pursue that job

請(qǐng)盡可能去從事這個(gè)工作

if there is a purpose about which you are passionate

如果你有熱情的事具有目的

dedicate yourself to that purpose

務(wù)必全身心投入到這一目的中

Finally, I hope that you can find joy in the lives you choose

最后 我希望你們能夠在自己選擇的人生軌跡中找到樂(lè)趣

You are completing one important phase of your life today

今天 你們完成了人生中一大重要的階段

and embarking on an amazing new adventure

并將開(kāi)始美妙的新探險(xiǎn)

Serious decisions about life surely lie ahead

前方 你們必將需要對(duì)人生作出抉擇

but take the time to savor the joys, large and small that come along the way

盡管如此 不要忘了享受過(guò)程中的大小樂(lè)趣

Share those joys with others, and share a laugh when you can
