第十二章 形容詞 包含形容詞比較級的句子

　　1.包含形容詞比較級的句予多帶有一個由than引起的從句，表示和誰或什么相比(從句中有些詞會省略掉)：

　　She is taller than her elder sister.

　　她比她姐姐高。

　　This sentence is easier than the other one.

　　這個句子比另外那個容易。

　　I'm stronger than you.

　　我比你壯。

　　They are better than English films.

　　它們比英國電影好。

　　Life was much harder than it is today.

　　那時生活比現(xiàn)在苦得多。

　　Europe has less land than Canada.

　　歐洲的面積不及加拿大大。

　　They are all younger than me.

　　他們都比我年紀小。

　　Manchester is farther from London than Oxford.

　　曼徹斯特比牛津離倫敦更遠。

　　2.有時狀語從句可以省略：

　　The weather is warmer here.

　　這里的天氣要暖和一些。

　　The meals are more expensive in a restaurant.

　　在飯店吃飯要貴一點。

　　Are you feeling better?

　　現(xiàn)在你覺得好一些了嗎?

　　I'll be more careful in future.

　　我將來要更仔細一點。

　　Have you got a larger size?

　　有大一點的嗎?

　　I had never seen a better film.

　　我沒看過(比這)更好的電影。

　　3.比較級前有時可有一狀語修飾：

　　My sister is two years younger than me.

　　我妹妹比我小兩歲。

　　Our room is slightly bigger than theirs.

　　我們的房間比他們的房間稍大一點。

　　This car is a bit more expensive.

　　這輛車稍稍貴一點。

　　You are an inch taller than him.

　　你比他高一英寸。

　　Your pronunciation is much better than mine.

　　你的發(fā)音比我的發(fā)音好多了。

　　4.比較級的形容詞還可在某些句型中：

　　Many cities are getting bigger and bigger.

　　許多城市越來越大。

　　I bought more than ten books.

　　我買了十幾本書。

　　We can fly around the world in less than 50 hours.

　　我們不到五十個鐘頭就能繞地球飛行一圈。

　　The busier he is，the happier he feels.

　　他越忙越高興。
