第二十章狀語 詞組作狀語

　　詞組作狀語時也不少。最常見的有下面幾類：

　　1.名詞和它的修飾語：

　　It weighs almost a ton.

　　它幾乎有一噸重。

　　I shall stay another five monnths.

　　我將再待五個月。

　　We have to walk a long walk to the station.

　　到車站我們得走一大截路。

　　2.名詞或副詞+介詞短語：

　　Theory must go hand in hand with practice.

　　理論必須與實際相結(jié)合。

　　Not long aftert that, he got married.

　　不久之后他就結(jié)婚了。

　　3.副詞和它的修飾語：

　　The train arrived ten minutes late.

　　火車晚點十分鐘。

　　We have to change to the No. 3 trolley a few stops further on .

　　再過幾站我們得轉(zhuǎn)三路無軌。

　　They live a long way off.

　　他們的住處離這里很遠。

　　4.由連詞and 連接的兩個平行的詞：

　　They drove night and day for three days.

　　他們一連三天日夜開車。

　　The man talked on and on.

　　那人沒完沒了地談。

　　It rained off and on all day.雨斷斷續(xù)續(xù)下了一天。

　　5.其他形式：

　　She dived in head first.

　　她頭朝下跳進水里。

　　The picture was hung upside down.那張畫掛倒了。

　　有不少狀語的成語屬于這一類，如hand in hand, side by side, heart and soul, day after day, day in day out, the other day, all ( the ) year round, year after year, year in year out 等。
