超燃畢業(yè)演講：不要做讓自己開(kāi)心的事，做讓自己變得更優(yōu)秀的事

　　我們都常常聽(tīng)到這樣的話： 做自己開(kāi)心的事， 開(kāi)心就好! 可是今天我想說(shuō)的是： 不做讓自己開(kāi)心的事， 做讓自己變得更優(yōu)秀的事!

　　其實(shí)這話是來(lái)自美國(guó)男星查理·戴(Charlie Day)受邀重返母校梅里馬克學(xué)院(Merrimack College)為學(xué)弟學(xué)妹們做畢業(yè)演講。查理的演講幽默風(fēng)趣，見(jiàn)解獨(dú)到，通過(guò)獨(dú)自闖蕩紐約的經(jīng)歷，他希望告訴畢業(yè)生們不要害怕失敗、害怕比較、害怕意見(jiàn)，因?yàn)檫@些都無(wú)法阻止你獲得成功。這也是目前我看到最激勵(lì)人心的英文演講之一。

But my lesson is this: I don't give a shit.

我學(xué)到的是：管它的呢。

Okay?

好嗎?

You cannot let a fear of failure,or a fear of comparison,or a fear of judgment stop you from doing what's going to make you great.

你不能讓害怕失敗，害怕被比較，或是害怕被評(píng)論阻止自己成為更好的人。

You cannot succeed without this risk of failure.You cannot have a voice without the risk of criticism and you cannot love without the risk of loss.You must go out and you must take these risks.

沒(méi)有失敗的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)就沒(méi)有成功;沒(méi)有批評(píng)的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)就沒(méi)有立場(chǎng);沒(méi)有失去的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)就沒(méi)有愛(ài);你一定得承擔(dān)這些風(fēng)險(xiǎn)。

And people will tell you to do what makes you happy,but a lot of this has been hard work,and I'm not always happy.And I don't think you should do just what makes you happy,I think you should do what makes you great.

很多人會(huì)告訴你，做自己喜歡做的事，但其實(shí)很多都是苦勞，我也不是每天都開(kāi)心的人，而且我不覺(jué)得你們應(yīng)該要做讓自己開(kāi)心的事，你們應(yīng)該要做讓自己變得更好的事。

Do what's uncomfortable, and scary, and hard, but pays off in the long run. Be willing to fail. Let yourself fail. Fail in the way and the place where you would want to fail. Fail, pick yourself up and fail again.

跨出你的舒適圈，做一些讓你害怕、辛苦，但長(zhǎng)期下來(lái)會(huì)得到收獲的事，要甘愿失敗，讓自己失敗，跌在你想失敗的地方，跌倒失敗了，重新站起來(lái)，然后再失敗。

Because without this struggle, what is your success anyway?As best we know we have one life, In it, you have to trust your own voice, your own ideas, your honesty, your vulnerability, and through this you will find your way.

因?yàn)闆](méi)有了這些掙扎，那你的成功又算什么呢?就我們所知，人就只活這么一次，在這個(gè)生命中，你要相信自己的心聲，你的想法、你的誠(chéng)實(shí)、你的弱點(diǎn)，經(jīng)過(guò)這些你才會(huì)找到出路。

You do not have to be fearless, just don't let fear stop you. Live like this as best you can, and I guarantee you will look back on a life well-lived.

你不需要無(wú)所畏懼，但你一定不能讓恐懼打敗你，請(qǐng)抱持這樣的態(tài)度生活下去，我可以保證當(dāng)你多年之后回頭看，你會(huì)覺(jué)得很值得。
