C= Customer S= Salesperson

C: Excuse me, I'd like to have these pants I bought here yesterday altered. Here's my receipt.

顧客：對(duì)不起，我想改一下昨天買的褲子。這是我的收據(jù)。

S: Certainly, sir. What would you like done to them?

接待員：沒(méi)問(wèn)題，先生。您想怎么改?

C: They're a little bit too long, so I'd like about half an inch taken off them.

顧客：它們有點(diǎn)太長(zhǎng)了，我想改短大約半英寸。

S: All right, sir. They should be ready for you by tomorrow afternoon.

接待員：好的，先生。明天中午就會(huì)好了。

C: Thank you very much.

顧客：非常謝謝你。

S: It's our pleasure.

接待員：那是我們的榮幸。

 單詞學(xué)習(xí)筆記 

 1.pants n .褲子(恒用復(fù)數(shù)) 

a pair of pants 一條褲子

因?yàn)檠澴佑袃蓷l褲管，所以恒用復(fù)數(shù)。其他類似用法尚有scissors(剪刀，

有兩片刀片)，trousers(長(zhǎng)褲，有兩條褲管)，glasses(眼鏡，有兩片鏡片)。

一把剪刀/一條褲子/一副眼鏡

2.alter vt.修改

例：A publisher can't alter a book without the author's permission.

(出版商未經(jīng)作者的同意不能刪改書。)

3.receipt n.收據(jù)

4.take sth off 把某物拿掉

例：John took the bumper stickers off his car.

(約翰把車子保險(xiǎn)杠的貼紙拿掉。)
