Tip: worth意為"值得……，有……的價(jià)值的"等，常常用作形容詞，在句中一般作表語，有時(shí)也可用作定語，如 a place worth seeing (值得一看的地方) , a dictionary worth $ 50 (一本價(jià)值50美元的詞典)等。worth用作表語時(shí)，不能單獨(dú)使用，其后通常接動(dòng)詞的-ing形式，而不能接動(dòng)詞不定式。常用的句式有:
(1) "主語+be +worth+動(dòng)詞的-ing形式+……"此時(shí)，句子的主語就是worth之后動(dòng)詞-ing形式的邏輯賓語。例如 He isn't worth getting angry with. (犯不上跟他生氣。)[注意]動(dòng)詞的-ing形式之后的介詞不可省去。worth后, 面的動(dòng)詞-ing形式一般用主動(dòng)形式表示被動(dòng)意義，而不能直接用其被動(dòng)形式。
(2) "It (形式主語) + be + worth +動(dòng)詞的-ing形式+……"例如 This book is worth reading. = It is worth reading this book. = This book is well worth reading. (這本書值得一讀。)
